In this film, we visit Yasuní National Park in the Ecuadorian Amazon. We are fascinated and astounded by the diversity of plants and animals, but we also come face to face with a major threat to the region - oil production.

We encountered an unusual sight when we arrived in Trinidad - the Viking ship "Drakar." When owner Roberto took the ship on a test sail, we used the opportunity to capture the adventure on film.
During our crossing from Charlotteville in Tobago to Trinidad, we got tangled up in fishing nets and lines twice within 36 hours. What was simply a nuisance to us, spells death for hundreds of thousands of marine animals every year.

The search for a boat for the Pacific continues. In the past months I have looked at many different boats, from 10 meter production boat, through 14 meter home-built boats to solid 16 meter steel cutters.

Tropical rainforests are disappearing worldwide at alarming rates. On Saint Lucia, we took a ride on the "Aerial Tram" through one of the remaining original forests and marveled at its lush vegetation and animal life from above.
After our gennaker tore yesterday, we created improvised twin headsails using the drifter and Genoa. Hence, we were able to increase our speed to over 7 knots.
